Into this world, we have come to tread,
Came and yet, ensnared instead.
We who sought to deceive with guile,
By treachery, we were beguiled.
Straight were the paths we were to find,
Yet crooked ways, our souls did bind.
Seeking joy, with hopeful eyes,
Embraced were sorrows, in disguise.
Living our lives, in this earthly sphere,
Each breath we took, brought us ever near.
The world knew us not, in its vast domain,
Yet upon its stage, we left our stain.
Our words, once sacred, we would not sell,
But now, for a pittance, their stories tell.
Speaking truths, with hearts so bold,
In webs of lies, our tales unfold.
Though words we spoke, with eyes unseen,
