Irony Of Life Poem by Gerald Opio

Irony Of Life

Rating: 5.0

For many are born on different days
As well as many on the same days
However, those born on the same days,
Can never have the same traits
As some can be wicked
While others righteous
Perhaps, traits could be factorial
Or even ancestral

For the enormous characteristics imbued
Amongst people in the world
Some being obsessed by affluence
Whilst others live destitute
Their respective statuses having an effect
In their demeanor and way of life
As the rich keep on extorting by taking away from the impoverished
Filling their insatiable desires by extraneous accumulation
The penurious wallow in more penury

The basics of life keep on fluctuating
Being perceived differently among societies
People becoming more dogmatic by the day
Indulging in all sorts of revelries
For the sake of pleasure
To try and forget
And dwell in fantasy for a while
Where fleeting serenity resides
