Irish Companion Poem by michael Smajda

Irish Companion

I read and heard a lot about Ireland,
The place where the leprechauns be.
Where there is so many shades of green,
Wherever your head turns, for you to see.

I heard the people are so friendly there.
All who leave Ireland do so wearing smiles.
They, even, someday, want to go back again,
No matter what year or how long the miles.

They say you happen to be Irish.
You, yourself, have never been there.
You always wanted to visit Ireland.
But not just alone traveling by air.

Well, I, too, have never been to Ireland.
A place, I, too, always wanted to see.
So, let's together, go and visit Ireland.
While there, enjoy each other's company.
