This is a wonderful evocation of the Mystical Experience. Liza. It is the smallest spot in the world but will open out into Eternity, right? ! The saint is biding his time until the divine presence reveals itself. This isn't a test of faith (that is not needed) but it's an occasion of hope. And I suspect the hoped for mystical meeting will occur after the music falls silent and human hearts can open wide.
