How many nights will I expend before the necessary music echoes sounds already circling within? When I cross paths with that sole musician, I will greet her with a promise, 'I am listening to you: Play on.' The rest, as Hamlet grasped, is silence....
I wrote this poem two years ago. Thanks for reminding me of it. That closing passage is my favorite too with the mysterious female musician appearing suddenly.
When I cross paths with that sole musician I will greet her with a promise, I am listening to you: Play on Well, that sounds very promise-able, Daniel!
Daniel, your poem took me beyond reason, for music cannot be reasoned as if it were a decision to be made. Instead, we balance ourselves upon it's random and incomplete messages, falling to the ground because there is no music worth hearing or accompanying us. Looking instead, for those gentle, tender notes and sounds that will fill our imaginations full of poetical ideas and thoughts. Listening to stars with their twinkling music of light shining upon us, creating harmonies that a sole individual can hear. Walking through the milky way's forest of beauty touching our minds with it's silent music above, or sitting in a meadow filled with colorful roses, hearing their petals of creative music being composed within echoes of our intellect. Gazing upon music at last, our soul, the only musician that plays for each of us alone. Fantastic and amazing poem, Daniel. Guess I got a little carried away with it's thought-provoking properties. You do make me think outside of every box. Thank you, RoseAnn
The unsung melody within our hearts, has its own perception in recognizing itself when encounters its mirror-soul. There will be dancing untouched, in harmony, just like - Energy - impalpable, and yet it is everything!
This elaborate poem talks about the time what you are passing through now, cannot please your inner heart. The music what you need to console yourself is not available around you. And hence, you are in a wild search, in your language.... When I cross paths with that sole musician, I will greet her with a promise ..... very nice. Thanks for sharing.
glad that my final verse in ''Cherry Blossoms'' - and AIS ;) - accompanied you when you did step into the night. And you have used your time for good, Daniel. This poem is filled with music (not only the baritone soloist making neighing sounds.. there is Mahler, here.. the coachman's horn.. and Schubert - Der Müller und der Bach..) Your poetic mind at its best
Beautiful Dramatic Monologue just as the mind unfolds its thoughts.
