Interruptions Poem by Dean Meredith

Interruptions

It's funny
You know
The people I have issue with
Are either
So far apart from me or
Too far alike

We overstep our bounds
And hate & love ourselves
And others join us
In adoration & contempt
I despise my worst
And more so in others

The usual rounds
Token gratitude
Secret passwords
Power so attractive
Something to say
Be careful

Relative freedom
Has its relative price
How's your account?
Enough to cover
Enough to pay
Enough to lose
