The poem very effectively conveys the sense of the internal displacement with good lines and strong imagery...Poetry does become a way of exploring one's emotions and state... Reading the poem, to the persona of the poem (which is not necessarily the poet) I would say: All the tension and displacement one feels is due to the struggle and the dichotomy between past and future. The power of this tension is dissipated with understanding of what actually is: simply observe. For example, observe each thought as it arises, as it lives and as it subsides. One need not be judgmental - just observe. This observation produces understanding of what is and of 'oneself' beyond words and therein flowers harmony. And do not hold on to this observation either - for that is to create a past again. Simply observe and this observation and wisdom therein is ever new. do things which I never intent to do I speak words which I never have thought of I act in a way which is incoherent to myself Am I not displaced Internally?
