Interior Burial Grounds Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Interior Burial Grounds

Nighttime echoes being sung in melodies of a wondering
expression, feeling a bond that never can be broken for
it was made in heaven and cannot be torn asunder.

Whiling away time in measures of rhythm that take us back
and forth through pictures, memories and thoughts we've
held onto through the years.

Mementos of love and joy that can never be destroyed for
they are invincible when stored in our minds and hearts,
living in their midst always.

Taking them out of interior burial grounds just to re-
collect and remember each of them whenever we think or
miss them whenever we think or miss them in our lives.

Missing each one, wishing we could hug them at least
one more time before they're gone forever, but alas it
was never meant to be.
