Intelligent Design

Had your nose four nostrils,
where would 3 and 4 go?

Your nose might stick out
like the Eiffel tower;
with nostrils North, South, East and West.

N would be burdensome:
you'd plug it in a storm,
while waiting for the operculum.

From either side, W and E
would not be
a good look.

Only the southern of the cluster
can I see passing muster.
