Insufficient laws

"I have been beaten Mercilessly"
"they have manhandled me with cruelty"
where to go and how to manage?
I just felt pity for her sad stage
I came to know about her husband's affair
he wanted to divorce but couldn't do it here
so he started harassing her
and took recourse to beat
There may be many cases
where they cursed their lives
living under live hell
but couldn't openly tell
there are sufficient laws
but the cruelty goes on
ladies suffer and we watch helplessly
such is the show of civilized society
It will never stop
even if you shout on the top of voice
the kind treatment may change
but altogether it shall remain unchanged
Ladies have suffered most
even at the cost of their modesty
the moment they surrender and come to you
they have to pass through
Hasmukh Mehta
A very thought provoking read on the plight of women. No amount of laws will help, unless the mindset of the people changes. Every daughter should be brought up with the courage to speak up against injustice and not to quietly bear all the tortures. But sadly, this will take a long time happening. Very rightly said Hasmukh Mehta ji! The laws are there but somehow Justice is hard to achieve. Giti Tyagi, Patiala, Jun 26,2019

I would like to translate this poem
It will never stop even if you shout on the top of voice the kind treatment may change but altogether it shall remain unchanged - this is an absolute truth. It is not about laws anymore. It is more about the upbringing and the values imparted. We are sadly living in a society that is redundant with constricted thinking...Change has to come from within. Thanks sir for a thought provoking verse. Annapurna Sharma, Nellore, Jun 26,2019
