Time, Life, complexity Our past is our present, indemnity, And as much as we would like to forget, To escape, We are prisoners of our memories. I have also felt this way, many times but could never express it as vividly and well. It just flows and the images and feelings born with it, memories that will not go. A poem to remember
Sandra, sometimes I wonder if you are good for me, or bad for me! While we all need encouragement and affirmation, none of us needs/ wants a swelled head! Again, I repeat We belong to a mutual admiration society!
I never give praise where praise is NOT due, So, maybe this will reassure you You've got the talent, the words, the ' savoir fair' So for me to praise you, is only fair!
Sandra, you have A heart of pure gold An eye for what's lovely And wisdom untold. Creative and bright, A wonderful mind. And good in all things You constantly find!
You are so right: you cannot escape or reshape the past, much as you would like to. Striking imagery, like 'a technicolour memory'. I can't forget either.
Our brains are amazing at 'freeze-framing' and storing up images. The key is to focus on and re-enforce the good memories, and to learn from and then move on from the bad ones! Thanks, Michael, for reading and taking the time to comment!
