We are granted a fixed quantum of time
Each second passes with a silent chime
But like a strident alarm clock
Time impinges on us like a loud knock

From the perspective of a lifetime the words ring true; from the perspective of Soul's eternalness, a little less so. It is important however that Soul surrenders and serves thereby assisting IT in seeing each Soul grow it's eternally expanding volume of knowingness.
So many lines of wisdom are present in this poem but two lines which stands out are ' Time is like a diminishing bank account ' , ' Nothing can be added to the existing amount ' , These two lines are so unique and so true, wonderful :)
Time wasted should be our greatest regret It is precious and irredeemable, never forget Before infirmities set in, earn what you can For man on Earth has only a short span Indeed, time wasted is never found. Time flies. Time waits for no man...these and many others are the quotes that are said each day about the significance of time. He who values his time, values his life too. This is another deliciously crafted poem on time. Very good write.....Great job madam!
superb......time wasted is indeed most regrettable.....time is the slipping sand from our fist....the more we try to clench the more it slips out.....
A great exhortation on the value of time! The last stanza says it all...use time before its too late. Enjoyed it.
A perfect cautioning through your following line... Time wasted should be our greatest regret es our very limited schedule of time can never be extended, once it is wasted.... Thank you, Valsa.
An Urdu poet Fani Badayooni wrote- -Every new breath comes after death of the previous one, life is the name of dying again and again. Time is count down, every moment is reducing duration of our life.

Nothing can be added to the existing amount.. indeed, that's all about time!
The shortness of time granted [! ] is its own beauty and gravity. A fine reminder Valsa madam from you on man`s lapses. The poem is didactically developed on the tracks of human folly of wasting time... Man never learns though. I often wonder how boring it will be for us if we are thrown into hypothetical eternity where time will never leave us...
What a great poem! I love all Valsa's great poem. The truth of life is clear here. Thanks.
This is so true...time never waits. Lovely rhymes and simile.
Time is like a diminishing bank account Nothing can be added to the existing amount In the short span one needs to do the best and mange the account.
And we are living one life only within a time frame scarcely enough to waste indiscreetly.......Valsa......this's very inspiring and penned beautifully with rhyme
....so beautifully penned...poems of time I always find intriguing...I hope you have a beautiful day...and I must find where I left off, so I can continue reading your beautiful writes...hope you do not mind :)
