There was a war here between Megan and Micheal, but the innocent one is poem...just be a part of poem and see what it supposed to see...i like the meaning in this poem, i guess Micheal has something behind choosing innocents instead innocence...maybe he knows what lies behind this :) by the way good poem! ! ! like it :) Unwritten Soul

Text of message sent Megan Maxwell on 3/6 @ 1: 50 pm What in the world are you talking about? Title of my poem is 'Innocents of War'! Note the plural noun that denotes a number of innocents victims; your title 'The Innocence of War' denotes something entirely different - a singular noun denoting a state of being. Do you not see the difference? I asked you when I commented on your poem if in fact you really meant to use 'innocents' instead of 'innocence', but you emphatically said NO! you knew what you were doing and 'innocence' is what you meant. Study the text of my poem, then read yours - entirely different, right? In any case, please don't read and comment in haste next time!

i see the recurring theme here as in your other works. I'm particularly moved by 'inspires the next generation to line up in ranks and die.' Stark clarity of the folly of war. honest and unembellished by romanticism.
