There is always a competition between nature and electronics with today's kids. As a mother of three boys, I have tried to give them opportunity to enjoy nature, and it abounds here in Minnesota. When they were little I would take them on nature walks, where we would collect leaves and interesting things we would find. They do the same when we are at the beach, finding sand crabs, shark eggs, and shells. They used to spend hours digging up bugs and worms in the ground...and my son once brought me a squeaking baby rabbit, after its home had been upended by a dog. There is ALWAYS a struggle here, where once it was never an issue. Thanks for your poem!
I know that I passed my love of and awe for nature on to my kids. It is one of my few life's accomplishments
