In Your Father's Footsteps Poem by Dorsey Baker

In Your Father's Footsteps

In your mouth a silver spoon
you're walking down a road
that is paved with tears
and you disrespect the street
traveling much too fast
with lightning speed
you swerve into the curve
your girlfriend
she is getting on your nerve
but you just go into your room
close the door
and put some more holes
in your wall
you shave all the hair
off of your head
and watch it fall to the floor
your father give you his name
then you give it to your son
and you can't shoot the bull
because you aint got no bullets
in your gun!
