In Wilderness Rivers Cry Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

In Wilderness Rivers Cry

For years have we nurtured mankind,
In return man has but us mined.
With feelings if your heart does move,
Is not it time to show some love?
You see well, choose not to be blind,
He who's asleep can we well wake,
Not him pretending, wide awake,
One, never lost is hard to find.

We both are bodies water-lined,
The mankind is our very kind.
In wilderness still seems this cry,
Heedless, mindless as you walk by,
Beware O man time still seems fine,
Not, rivers when turn into brine.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Over two-third of human body,72% to be precise, is water. So, man is a water body as much as a river is. But man has reduced water to be a commodity and polluted this life-making material.
