In Vain We Fix Hopes For... Poem by Mohammad Younus

In Vain We Fix Hopes For...

In vain we fix hopes for...
fair and impartial justice...
with the corrupt judges in this world,
They sell their soul and conscience...
So stand before the tyrant ruler...
like faithful devotees...
With foalded hands and drooped head...
As if standing before the supreme...
deity of justice,
And when the apex court chief fails...
to keep the balance true...
How can we trust the blindfolded...
lady of justice? ...
Standing in front of the court...
holding balance and scroll in her hands.
