In To The Alluring Darkness.....I Pry

Croaking of frogs & chirping of crickets,
Fireflies lighted up those dark thickets,
Howling of wind and trembling of trees,
Frighteningly calm was icy winter sea.

Moon remained coffined in clouds,
Stars hid themselves in sky's dark shroud,
Fog blinded vision with its ragged veil,
Scent of night flora, a sensation did prevail.

Parliament of owlets let out maniacal hoots,
Westerly winds provoked wailing of shoots,
Heard my own heart thumping so loud,
Tears flowed from sullen dark clouds.

In thunderlit seconds of momentary glitter,
Streets became milkyway as raindrops litter,
There's no greater beauty than darkest night,
It is time to let our inner light shine bright.
