In Their Calamities Poem by Marlene Rashidi

In Their Calamities

Yet, I lay my prayers into,
Incline not my heart O Lord,
Let not my fears be their victory,
Let me not eat of their dainties,
I fear not of their intimidation,
I stand up still and fight off,
Set a watch before my heart Lord,
And make haste unto me,
For by me no heavenly works can be done,
I lay not my life in their calamities.
