In The Very Beginning, Before Man's Creation Poem by Mohammad Younus

In the very beginning, before man's creation...
...He was just a hidden treasure;
He, then, brought me forth from Nothing;
And endowed me with sight, hearing, and speech;
With these divine powers he asked me to see and...
...appreciate his beauty in his beautiful manifestation;
But at the end of time, I shall be summoned back...
...after resurrection.

My life flowed out of the depth of his supreme spirit;
After giving me form and order, He blew into me...
...of his intellect;
Divine command created me for being as his vice-regent!
And so he taught me from His book of knowledge...
...the names of all the things;
Then, he presented me before the assembly of angels...
...as a being full with knowledge and wisdom;
They all submitted to me except Iblis, the ignorant;
He didn't know of the treasure...
...that God had invested in me;
Then, He shined his light on me...
...to lead me in the dark alleys of the earth;
He sprouted from my within the hidden springs...
...on my left and on my right;
He made me descend the steps leading down from...
...the Paradise to the earth;
To live here as his faithful and devoted servant!
