Symbolism n imagism have always been the tools in the practiced hands of transcendentalists and mystics in different capacities whether as poets, philosophers or scholars...for them the world is clad in the manifold garb, for they themselves have multiple folds n layers of their own souls...they keep on decoding n deciphering the symbols of the world in such a way as when their work is read, it does not go deep down the throat easily, but not when they are understood... the grammar of this poem, especially adjectives+nouns are painting the picture of the poem...like unshed tears, secret caves, sailors'souls, night sea, close strangers...and lost lover, silent shadows....you are a gifted poet though, but you seem to chisel your phrases too...
