In The Secrecy Of The Night Poem by Asma Khan

In The Secrecy Of The Night

In the secrecy of the night
when the moon lowers to whisper in the ears of wind,
and the stars spread their wings to soar higher than the light.

My eyes wander like a nomad from dream to dream in the hope to reside in your heart, where traders of desires sell their passion to time and lovers wear crowns of buyers' names, where blessings knock only once in a lifetime and victims of destiny watch their loss in vague.

In the quietness of night, when you walk on the green grass, leaving prints of your feet on its face.

When tears drop off your eyes like stars falling from the skies, and kiss your cheeks like dew touches the morning roses, where your heart leads you to my path only and you know somewhere that I won't ever let you down, no matter whatever it takes, you will always be mine.
