hey, jette! hoping this finds you well and thriving. checking to see if you had new postings, my attention lit of the title of this poem—there's a a curve-billed thrasher nest with chicks in it in the cholla on a corner of my house's property. the images in this poem are accessible, but i don't have anything in my experience to relate to the narrative as whole. would you mind telling me what it's about? -glen

You have a mysterious relation with that wraith. When it comes into your life it sweeps you away in the direction of dreams, then you find yourself in a new phase. Perhaps you are being readied to summon crows. Their message has changed since the times of bird augury.

Thanks for commenting Denis. I let this poem just write itself, not worrying about much but the images and thoughts in my mind.

Is this a rebirth or a discovery? Sometimes, it's hard to distinguish what is the precursor of who we are. By whatever origin or form, I know that you'll find fulfillment.10

I would say it is both and I think life is a cyclical thing with no order of origin...

- the first lines of your intriguing poem, translated into Italian :) Quando nacqui uno spettro entrò dalla finestra e mi succhiò via il respiro. Mentre da cinereo diventavo nero Mi sfarinai tra le braccia del dottore e volai via, senza peso, come l'incanto di un passero che canta per chiamare i corvi.

actually, ''Mentre da cinereo diventavo nero'' ['o' = male] should be ''Mentre da cinerea diventavo nera'' ['a' = female] - besides, ''mi facevo nera'' could be better than ''diventavo nera''

It's amazing, how you depicted the non-ending voyage of life in nature, using metaphoric expressions. What really perpetuates is the conscience, which needs life for it's errand. Congrats for being the member's PoD. Thanks for sharing.X

When the body is not permanent, soul is churned with perpetual running wheel of birth and death. A very meaningful poem about the reincarnation process. Congrats.

A very imaginative write about the journey of soul that takes birth again and again after death and in various forms Your poem is very akin to Hindu philosophy which states that our soul never dies and takes rebirth after death.Like we change our clothe after it is torn, so do the soul takes a new body after the old body dies. Congratulations for being selected as Poem of the Day. Bharati Nayak

Thanks for you comments and sharing of Hindu philosophy. The concept of rebirth and re imagining of the soul intrigues me. Interesting to think of rebirth as a changing of clothing after it is torn. Thanks again.
