In The Midst Of Your Despair Poem by Daniele Cerasoli

In The Midst Of Your Despair

I can see right through you
And you don't seem to care
That you're becoming fake
In the midst of your despair.

It doesn't help to drown your sorrows
Or blame those not at fault.
Don't be angered by my words to you, but
Take them with a grain of salt.

You lied to those closest to you
And that hurts us like a blade
So don't be mad at us now
Because we're the ones who prayed.

So please change back to who you were
Before it becomes too late
That's who we all loved so much
It's who we knew was so great.

I don't want to force myself away
Though if you continue down this route
I'll have to protect what's in my heart
And I'll need to push you out.

I want you to be happy
But just not this way
I don't want you to change
I just want you to stay.
