I came across this poem when studying my O levels in Bristol library and fell in love with its sounds and romance..The poem I finally selected to analyse and recite was The hollow men by TS Eliott. However, for forty years I have had some of the words of Henri´s poem in my mind at different times.Now rereading it I wish there had been more timeless references to music to make it more relevant to my current pupils but I have a deep fondness still and love to read it aloud to myself.
