In The Light Of The Night Poem by Gautam Sen

In The Light Of The Night

Night looking so happy today
commemorates a gleeful past
of a warm amalgamation of
two souls of two different hearts.

Alighting from the twilight cart
with swaying gait it appeared
walking along the adorned avenue
of the welcoming evening.

Tears of joy may blur my vision
but a sight of love with silent sighs
revives those golden hours to fill
my torn out mind with strong desire.

Oh! Darling night stay for long,
tonight in your safe shield of hiding
let me enjoy my feast of joy.

Moments of memories
are transitory I know,
at this happy hour of night
don't remind me of reality –
I'm alone in a lone corner
of my mind’s abode.

Before the night leaves me alone,
just before the sun brings light,
let me rediscover my thread of life
in the light of the night.
