In The Future We Once Were Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

In The Future We Once Were

What if all good ideas fell into the black hole
would the gravity of our morality still hold
What if the education system is riddled with wormholes?
what'd our humanity model look like
What if the full moon of our divine adversity lit up the whole sky
how many of us would've their luminosity dulled
What if the universe of our desired futures failed to form
could we be right to think of a parallel universe in the now, just in case
What if the astrophysics of our religion n' politics' just a fuzzy mirage
would we e'er dream of reaching the faraway Andromeda of our social prosperity
Maybe the only way's to walk straight back to the future we once were
and thus, cure the desire to create that which existed already.
