This poem follows the seasons from spring onward with the common theme being the creativity, the sheer delight, the boundless energy of childhood. These scenes are drawn with vivid details of fun and frolic that sent my memory racing back in time for parallel events and attiudes. I liked the stolen kisses and the baseball games and the building of your snow fort - all of these activities so innocent and carefree - inevitably we lose both of thos qualities, so memory becomes their final place of being. And your poem shows they still are an under current in our psyches - As I read your words I could see my life going past my eyes, and it is a blessed state of remembrance. Your poem shows in some mysterious way we are still those innocent, carefree kids, despite the weight of time we carry. Poetry makes this happen, connecting us to a common past. A pitch-perfect poem, Paul!
