In The Eye Of Beholder Poem by Wei Chao

In The Eye Of Beholder

In The Eye of Beholder

Can you tell me...why
Me being sparked such a backlash?
Why criticize me?
Is it worth something for you?
What do you get out of this?

My built, my ugly face…
Are you stereotyping my look?
You're…rejecting me.
What really is your intent?
I have the right, you answer.

It is...my skin colour,
Worth…for discrimination?
It is...racism.
Bad…you're perpetuating,
Stereotyping of races.

Do you know the vlaues
Societies cherish these days?
I'm sure…you are not.
Those are fairness, tolerance,
Unity, diversity…

In this modern world,
Decry one's look…a taboo,
Talking of beauty,
In the eye of beholder,
Inner beauty…do you know?
