I think you are like that caged Bird. The expression emanates from the inner recesses of your heart. Well done!

I wish to fly miles and miles... can this wish be fulfilled? Hope, the poetess can materialize her dream. Beautiful expression. Loved this poem.

'Set me free let me fly'....................... This is the soulful cry of every caged bird! The longing of a bird to fly free in the vast sky is given expression beautifully in this poem!

Rini, Have you read the poems of Balaamani Amma and Kamala Das? If not, please get them and start reading.. Balaamani Amma wrote poems in Malayalam. Kamala Das wrote her poems mostly in English, though her fiction- writings were in Malayalam. Please do read them...

Hi Rini, Beautiful poem. Very carefully worded. On the weird ways of human beings, taking everything of the nature as made for his pleasure. There is a very famous poem by name - Vittayaykkuka, , , , -Malayalam Poet Nalapat Balaamani Amma (She is mother equally renowned poet/writer novelist, Kamala das alias Madhavikkutty) . It starts like: Vittayaykuka koottil ninnenne, njan Ottu vaanil paRannu natakkatte... Your poem reminded me of this lovely poem.. Thank you Rini. A perfect 10 for this beauty..

Freedom....the birth right of everybody.......very much compromised in 'caging'.....I treat your poem as a wake up call to the mankind.....to totally wind up the habit of keeping pet dogs, pet birds, fish, tortoise etc. Your wonderful lines so breath-taking!
