In No Cense Poem by William Waterway

In No Cense

Rating: 3.5

The colt galloped across open plain
daring reality with freedom found
Leaving hoof prints in dry dirt as proof
something alive had made its mark
Leaving evidence of a life’s existence
telling a story of dream’s persistence
As it crossed the serpent’s trail
dust hurled above the airborne tail
Flying, literally flying through the air
the wide-eyed colt was without care
Where open spaces touched
the infinite line of sweeping sky
Forever it seemed to the colt
forever to run, fly, and bolt
Such a taste of life did it have
flavored with joy and innocence
favored by space without a fence
