In My Country Poem by George Kaluwa

In My Country

Rating: 5.0

All things remain the same
Even if we draw them out with shame
Caressing our monies together with Ben
Under the disguise of unhonored contracts with them
Cash trickling through the gate to the queen authorizing it with Pen
Savoring it with the ‘just judges' in their dens
And left overs given to the dogs in pens
Until then, all things shall always remain the same.

All things remain the same
Even if they receive funding for the sport
To do well in the global competitions we thought
Poshy cars the kings of the sport bought
Seemingly unconcerned with this wrought
Board planes back home even without a plate
And about them newspapers wrote
Until then, all things shall always remain the same

All things remain the same
Bosses practice nepotism and regionalism without remorse
Carry the whole village on their back for a purpose
Doing things on merit they oppose
Instead pleasing the few with quota they propose
Anyone against them they dispose
In the end the organization pays through the nose
As the operations are crippled and phase
Out of the picture cause they are dead
Until then, all things shall always remain the same

Alas! All things will be the same indeed.
