In Exile Poem by Olalekan Ololade Sobande

In Exile

I've came across people with Fame
Many of which were of the same
Hmm! What's next?
But God's way would surely manifest.
:
In the Northwest, I'm the casted stone
In the Southwest, I'm the rejected stone
Across the East, I'm now the forbidden stone
Waiting to be buried alone.
:
One tired cat in the ice
Pursued by an hungry mice.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
COMMENTARY This poem was written while the poet was in Exile, the recent economics hardship which lead to the poet losing his job and the poet's longing fortitude spirit to sustain his family expenditure as well as trying to adjust to the recent reality coupled with the underemployment/unemployment and the rising debt which few termed as spiritual attack on the poet's part made him flew his immediate family and town with the hope of seeing a better morrow which he so much clamoured for. This beautifully crafted piece could be visibly and literally summarised in two sentences.1. People could be seen here as forget able and unforgivable being.2. Those that the poet had once helped in one way or the other could not come to his aids when most needed, but instead resolved in blaming game and desertion.
