In Dreams Poem by Helen Crutchett

In Dreams

In dreams I walk hand in hand with my love
In rose hewn pathways beneath bowers of doves.

I know what I long for, you also feel
In dreams I know for certain you're real.

I see our love's dream reflected in lotus filled ponds
Daisy rings plucked by your hand is our bond.

Promises made in precious moments come true
Under sparking pristine stars of bright blue.

I feel like a princess in her golden coach
Your knightly manner beyond reproach.

As the clock strikes midnight, we're free to pretend
With fairy tales and make believe we transcend.

Our nightly trysts gather moments divine
Leaving all the qualms of day behind

It's only in dreams that I dread the still morn
With the coming of dawn, you will be gone.
