In A Woodland Night Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

In A Woodland Night

As many have seen the changes of green
In moonlight the change is a silvery grey
Not often color is seen as the color should be
When the Goddess does whatever she please

In midst of the fog reflects the silvery light
So eerie as a path sweeps away
Swirling behind in a moment of movement
Like a cloud that wanted to play

Echo the sounds, ever close is an owl
Listen, for what he may say
Who; Who are you; And why do you cometh
No human should venture this way

A whistle may hide the unrest felt inside
Yet has not Ye given the darkness your place
Run little fool for the sounds are behind
Run till the light of the day

Hear it, The woods tell them, so unsurprising
For now there may be no escape
One moment of leisure has brought them upon
With bad breath they start licking your face

The game is now over and the woodlands are sleeping
Tomorrow has brought a new day
The hounds of the Kennel, They will always find you
In the darkness where the young pups are trained
