Imploding Poem by Helen Crutchett

Imploding

You were like a breath of a balmy summer breeze
Floating gently as a butterfly
Capturing my unaware heart…

You caught my sighs as they filled the night air
Like star dust….dancing to and fro in the moonlight
My heart fluttered in my bosom to behold your face…

Strong arms wrapped around my body
Kisses from hungry lips pressed mine
Our bodies dancing to the music we both heard…

Where and why did you go?
I ask that question over and over
Was our love so intense that it had to implode like stars
Leading to a black hole in a universe of two lovers
Leaving us bewildered and wanting more? …

I don't know the answer to these questions
The emptiness grows with each passing year
As time slips by far too quickly
Leaving me with growing despair…

Please come back to me and if you can't just know
You took a great piece of my heart
That can't be replaced by anyone but you.
