Impatience Poem by Eric Niehoff

Impatience

Rating: 5.0

Sitting in a bass filled room
Alcohol I now consume

Waiting for my client to arrive
Through mismatched beats I survive

Ice in my drink begins to melt
The heat from the dance floor I felt

Late as usual, no surprise
Not taken seriously I surmise

Finally he sits down at my table
Concluding our business if we’re able

Talks of contracts and of money
Over so quickly it’s almost funny

Both our demands are now met
The terms of agreement fully set

Wish this was the end, but I know
Many more meetings still to go…
