Hi Brooklyn - - or Lyn if you like being called that for short - - I am glad to have read this free, expresive and flowing verse - - you have the confidence to write in short line which I may say is rare - -we poets seem to think in long and somewhat stodgy line length so this is fresh - - and very moving - - keep writing do and also read other poets on P.H. - comment if only a few words and you will see how much interest is maintained in friendship around poetry...... very best wishes for your future poetry - -with a talent like you have Lyn it is sure to out itself many times more..... message me any time if I can be of any help - or just to have a chat...... greetings from Fay in Cornwall U.K.

Wow Brooke - This is an amazing poem and a perfect example of MODERN FREE VERSE POETRY - old traditionalists (like me) can learn a lot from it. The structure is so so emotive. It grips - it shocks - it draws you in - it leaves you drained but wanting more. I score it a full TEN. What is my synopsis? Because life is hard in the 21st C we all retreat into a world of dreams and imagination. Everything bad that has happened to us compounds the angst. Nightmares - tears - pain - sorrow - hurt - grief become the norm. Sweet dreams - happiness - laughter and a loving family become a distant memory. What do we see instead of lovliness? : Blood (in every situation) Moonsters (behand every bush) Death (on every corner) SUICIDE seems sweet and the only way out. Is the real world really that bad Brooke - that you need to live in such a horrific imaginary world? Poemhunters is a Family of loving supportive people - we all love you Brooke so read our poems (which often speak of Angels - Love & Joy) and keep writing yours they are mystical and magical. Love you in Poetry - JOHN
