I'm Praying. Poem by Ema Bovoro

I'm Praying.

Rating: 5.0

Tonight I felt you scream
The fear clutching at your chest
I felt the dreaded day
And how your heart could not rest

Tonight I felt you cry
Anxiety filling your very core
With demons laughing, tormenting, playing
Gnawing more and more

Tonight I felt you breaking
I felt your shuttered breath
I felt each murmur
I felt each tear
I felt each thought of death

Tonight I felt you breaking
And I tried my very best
I know I haven't done right
But your cries collapsed my chest

So tonight I screamed on your behalf
And I asked God for His grace
For mercy, for peace, for love
To let you be free and know His face

You were never alone
Just like you said to me
I feel your pain, your hurt
And I heard your plea

Tonight I felt you whisper
A call for us to hear
So we're praying and God will listen
May He strike away all fear

Tonight I held you in my arms
And brought you to the Throne
I screamed, I cried and left you there
Safe in YHWH's arms.

So tonight I'll stay up for you
Go and get some rest
It's my turn, we're praying for you
God's peace will sure attest

Tonight we'll fight for you.

Goodnight my brother.
Sleep now.
I'm praying.
