I'm Not Your Battlefield Poem by Lisa AT

I'm Not Your Battlefield

Rating: 5.0

Stop bleeding on the one who loves you true,
She didn't break you, she's just seeing you through.
The wounds of childhood, the scars of the past,
The pain of survival, the weight that will forever last.

She's trying to love you, to hold space for your soul,
To prove she's not like them, the ones who made you not whole.
But still, you lash out, silent and afraid,
Pulling away when things get real, the pain that's been made.

You say you love her, but love can't survive,
When pain keeps calling the shots, and you're still alive.
She's not asking for perfection, just a heart that's true,
Not to be punished for staying, for loving you.

You can't bring old battles into a new war,
Expecting her to be soldier and healer, forever more.
You're not broken, just unhealed, and healing's a choice,
To see your pain, to face it, to say: 'This ends with me, I rejoice.'

The woman in front of you, she's not your battlefield,
She's the peace you've always craved, the love that's real.
Don't drive her away, don't let chaos win,
Choose her, choose healing, choose to let love in.

Choose to finally be free, to break the chains of pain,
To love and be loved, without the weight of shame.
She's waiting for you, with a heart that's true,
Will you choose her, or will you choose to bleed anew?
