Illusory Reality Poem by Luz H.

Illusory Reality

There are people that come into your life
unexpected, suddenly, almost abruptly
the connection is uncanny
you wish you could hold on to them
be friends forever
but forever it's a long time,
and a very boring word
no matter how you try
it's not meant to be
you begin to feel trapped, caught in toxic energy.
You need to run away.

Deep inside you knew this was not meant to last
but part of you grabbed a hold of the white smoke
yet the more you held the more it evaporated
afterwards everything felt surreal
you can't help to ask yourself
did I make all this up in my head?
Was what I felt generated by my heart?
Did he ever feel the same?
Does it matter what he's answer to me was?
No, it does not matter,
it only matters that
it felt real to me.
