As we fear the truths, we prefer to live under illusions! Once the reality is exposed, illusions have no relevance! I appreciate the image you have chosen. In truth it is a fallen leaf, but can create the illusion of lips about to utter something! Ingenious!
Nosheen, this is one perfect and beautiful sentence. It expresses but holds out no hope the complete fulfillment of our human desire. But your concise and felicitous expression of this hope, delivered without panic but with a kind of smiling loss, is very satisfying. This poem touches my heart.

THE ILLUSIONS WE CHERISH - You have identified the crux of the problem - We love our illusions more than the truth which would expose them. We are impatient and conclude the illusion is right but not enough time has gone by to unfold the true identity of the truth. So people settle for the convenient first answer which is a lie but it's a convenient one. // My tone in these comments is strident and harsh; the tone you display is even-tempered, fair, inviting, in a word. PERSUASIVE. THAT'S PITCH-PERFECT NOSHEEN You have the right approach.
It is a best philosophical poem in concise. Illusion will be broken If lips could say all things burried in heart.. but is it possible?
A wonderful expressive poem in its sheer brevity....5 stars
