I'll Write A Thousand Poems Poem by Winter Moyer

I'll Write A Thousand Poems

Rating: 5.0

I can't face reality
So I'll face my words instead
A make believe world
Made of only things I've said
Built from my feelings
A place full of meaning

Beautiful roses blossom and bloom
Just because I say it to be
A world of my design
Oh how wonderful it is to feel free

So I'll write a thousand poems
To dream of freedom, and love without loss
To drown out reality
To sink into fantasy
To tune out reality whatever the cost

I work to exert
A force on myself
To dive in deeper
So reality becomes inert

So I'll write a thousand poems
Hoping that one day
My fictions turn to reality
Until then I sit quietly
Writing a thousand poems
