A glass of wine
And a black eye
She feels that she has lost all her pride
She can’t find a reason not to cry
Her friends are screaming
And calling him names
She knows they are trying to help
But they can’t put out the flames
A heated argument
That went too far
A raised hand
That left an emotional scar
Now he’s at the door
Trying to say sorry
Her tears start again
And her heart beats with worry
Her children are going wild
They want to see their Dad
But they have no clue
That he’s done something bad
What can she do?
Where can she go?
The tears are running fast
And time is going to slow
She doesn’t want to leave him
She doesn’t know what to do
So ask yourself what would happen
If this was you?
