Metaphorically speaking, I hope, dear poet. Walls contain lives in the balance, some at the tipping point, others, well... The majority of the world's walls are permeable, indeed. Nothing is silent and oft unsafe within them. So many must witness and absorb palpable and proximate fear, angst, and occasionally the sighs and sounds of love. For those of us whose walls are a bit more private, there are still no secrets- for all emotion and thought travel through that seemingly impenetrable density. Believe you me. thought provoking and disturbing poem.
