We feel blessed when we get certain things in life, especially when we are weighed down by adversities. To a poet, getting good readers is a boon and it can delight him/her more than many other things. Unfortunately most of us have many encumbrances and cannot devote much time to write or encourage the writings of fellow poets, A well expressed poem!
Your point is very relevant, thanks indeed, but I want to take a diversion... Most often a poet speaks for an unknown someone, an editorial you often is a poetic I. Also, genuine appreciation is good, but if it becomes part of good manners, politically safe, etiquette oriented, then... It pays to dwell on this point. I am always in favour of genuine constructive criticism.
