All smiles for you, as she jumped and twirled
Perhaps she'd even have your curls,

Very nice write. I like this very much. Keep up the great writing.
if she had lived she'd be a heart breaker instead of being with the undertaker
Yes, Louis, it sounds as though she would have. Definitely all girl. Thanks for reading!
There is comfort and understanding in the words you have written.
Thank you, dear Jennifer, for your kind appreciation. Sadness and beauty can co-exist!
There is no order in life in many things, especially there is no order in Death Order. If I were God, I'd arrange that thing first. A sad and great poem of strong feelings.
Thank you, Zoran. The normal expected order is that parents precede their children in death. But God doesn't always make sense, to the finite human mind.
A poignant yet beautiful poem. The recurring lines, if she had lived. enhances the beauty of this write. Each and every stanza stands out expressing in beautiful detail the wonders of having a baby daughter. The ultimate stanza is just wonderful acknowledging that there is eternal place where we can meet again with our departed loved ones. A great solace. Beautifully written.
Once again, Rose Marie, thank you for your generous and insightful comments! : -)
Such a comforting and wonderful piece of poetry for the bereaved family. The death of a child is is probably the most tragic and agonizing phase in the life of parents. My heart goes for the.parents of an angel.
Sad, yes, Kostas. But at least it resolves with hope. Thank you for commenting! : -)
You'd be her hero, despite flaws/Protect her, be her Santa Claus/Encourage her with much applause, If she had lived.........Oh! The conditional used here is absolutely fabulous! Thoroughly enjoyed it..10
She would be far too cute to scold Climb on your lap for you to hold Look after you when you were old, If she had lived. My deepest sympathies to the bereaved family......10+++++++++
She DOES live, in another place And she awaits to see your face When Death beckons you, and you end this race, You both shall live. very fine poem, full of love. tony
Many thanks to you, Dr. Tony! It is always sad when a child is born, but then does not live long enough to experience life on this earth. And it tears the hearts of the parents apart.
