Lives pass by, intersect and connect,
Those we would meet come and go -
Often we don't see the overall plan

This is wizardry Linda. It has an effortless feel about it, but must have taken a great deal of artistry to create that effect. And I heartily agree with the wondering, the questioning. There are probably very few people out there that we're ideally suited to, and the chances of encountering them must be low, even when all the odds are stacked in our favour. And if/when we meet them, will we know? xx jim
This is so beautifully written and a fine reflection of a reality that every single human being is faced with....Love the last lines... If only we'd met when the timing was right While walking that infinite mile - I'd have given you the universe, the moon and the stars - If only you'd lingered awhile.
MB/RN...AWESOME PROSPECTIVE OFHOW OURLIVES ARE GOVERNED AND DESTNIES DETERMINED BY OLE' FATHER TIME.I ALSO AGREE WITH DANNY WHO ASTUTELY DETECTED A PENUMBRA EFFECT IN THE COURSE THAT YOUR POEM TAKES...EITHER WAY, IT DOES WORK, AND WITH TYPICAL ORI CRAFTSMANSHIP SO FINE''''''''''''''''''''''''''''FRANK/fjr
A great interpretation of this dilemna Linda. I almost feel as if it could be split in two after line 8 and either give the reader a pause or make two seperate poems, but then, no! It works for me. Danny
Linda, what a beautiful poem here. If Only, how many times do we say that to ourselves. If Only I had done this or If Only I had done that. The problem is we will never know. We use that for our misjudgements. Fate leads us along some mysterious paths. At crossroads we have to make a decision, right or wrong and stick by it. Enough of my rambling. I've given this lovely piece of writing a 10 because, not only is it a very good read, it is also thought provoking. Thank you for sharing it. David
