If I Stay Here With You Poem by Frank Sheehan

If I Stay Here With You

If I stay here with you
things can never
be the same

We've crossed too
many bridges,
burned paths
lived seperate lives

Built a canyon
between us - - -
though we've tried
to maintain formalities

it cannot ever
be as it was.
Fate and destiny
have formulated a new

outcome for us.
The divisions are futurisms
wrapped in values
of ramifications extinguished

by the perplexities
of enlarged circumferences
dripping with passion
and artificial soul.
