If I Left You Today Poem by Leon Moon

If I Left You Today

Rating: 5.0

If I left you today
What would you become?
Wish you knew how lonely
It is being the Sun

If tomorrow you're gone
What part of you would stay?
Torrents of love
Words fail to portray

And I paint with the pauses
You carelessly throw away
Effigies reflecting rhythms
Our heart morphs into clay
Baby without you
I'll never get through
Because without you
Less than half of me remains

If I left you today
Would you feel like you've won?
Or would you pray for the day
To never be done?

If tomorrow you're gone
Would your imprints fade?
Outlines out run
Returned to the solar grave

In canals and roots
Preserving wisdom
That aches and soothes
Vacuum packed freedom
Surround sound isolation
Rectifying illusion
Destroying the bleeding
Of statues strung up by the season

If I left you today
I'd capsize circle's gun
And search for the day
Which never begun

If tomorrow you're gone
What part of you would stay?
Torrents of love
Words fail to portray
